Sony Airpeak S1 Drone Debuts To take Alfa cameras to new heights

Drones for professionals and consumers are nothing new and neither drones with cameras covering a wide range of qualities. However, most of these drones come with their own cameras, and few allow you to use any professional camera you can possess. That’s what makes Sony’s first foray in the world of drone photography, since it is designed to be used with a different camera, specifically Sony interchangeable lens alpha cameras. In fact, the Sony Airpeak S1 drone does not come with a camera or even a graph.

Advertised at the end of last year and mocked the Virtual CES 2021 this year, the Airpeak S1 is marketed in professional photographers and cinematographers, but it does not really include that critical part of the equation. While most drone manufacturers would highlight that aspect of their new UAV, Sony is already safe, has the part of the camera. What Sony is boasting with your first Pro Drone warning, on the other hand, your flight capabilities.

Without being surprisingly, Sony speaks a lot about patented engines and technologies that allow drone to fly stably at maximum speeds of 55 mph (90km / h). While you may not have a camera to record video, you have image sensors facing all directions, including down, to see your environment and fly reliably.

The Airpeak S1 Drone is designed to point to professionals and includes features that allow the box of use. That includes a dual operation mode that allows a person to operate the drone, while another works with Gimbal and the camera, both seeing the same video source. It also has a “Base Airpeak” web application that allows users to manage flight plans and flight records, in addition to the Airpeak flight application for iOS and iPadas.

As expected, the Sony Airpak S1 also comes with a professional price of $ 9,000. That price still does not include even the Special Gimbal that is necessary to attach Sony Alpha Cameras, such as the A7S, A7R and FX3 series. That will be a separate purchase and neither the Drone nor Gimbal have specific launch dates.
