Microsoft Team update will prevent you from crushing for a storm of alerts

Microsoft is working on an update of its collaborative platform teams that will give users a greater control of how they are served with push notifications.

According to a new entrance to the company’s society roadmap, users will soon receive the possibility of receiving notifications via teams themselves or the Native Windows Notification Center when a message arrives.

“The latter provides a suite of benefits, such as respecting the focus assistance mode that allows you to avoid focusing and integrating with Windows 10 Action Center to help you review your notifications at a location “, explained Microsoft.

Microsoft team notifications

Since the beginning of the pandemic, many have been made of the effects of remote work on mental health. Much of this conversation is about culture that has been cultivated in some companies. With all forms of digital communication, workers have also felt bombarded by a relentless notification stream.

By introducing larger controls on how team notifications are received, Microsoft hopes to mitigate some of these problems and create increased separation between professional and personal activities, even if both take place in the same parameter (or on the same device).

The focus function referenced in the roadmap is integrated with the Windows 10 operating system, allowing users to control the types of notifications received. Notifications can be filtered by priority alerts or alarms only or completely disabled.

Although the functionality is clearly designed to help eliminate distractions when the concentration is needed, it can also be used to block the notifications received after hours.
