A problem in which the SSDs of the Apple Macs performing M1 chips were supposed to be struck with excessive wear – or at least apparent excessive wear, has been reprehensible, has been corrected, according to a new report.
You may remember that the original history of SSD wear, which returned to February, observing that the question was only a serious problem for a very small number of owners of Mac – but nevertheless. Obviously encouraged some concerns.

Apple has never been attracted to comment the so-called Gremline SSDs in the work here, but AppleiSide now indicates that the problem is apparently cured in the new update of MacOS 11.4 (which emerged late in May) – while noting that A source within Apple recording that this bug was actually a data report error in using the SSD measurement software (possibly lifted at the time).
In other words, the alarming wear observed (in some rare cases) did not really go to the physically reader (rather, it was simply to be misapported as happening).
This source of Apple informed the technical site that the update of the macOS 11.4 has solved the problem and Appleinsider confirmed that the operating system now reports “appropriate availability statistics” where it was not previously.

One of the Twitter Denizens who reported the problem initially, the developer Hector Martin, also declared separately (just before the publication of macos 11.4) that: “Update on the problem of SSD macos: it seems that the problem is corrected in 11.4. “
Martin, however, maintains in this thread Twitter that it was a real problem causing driving wear, as opposed to a question of erroneous declaration, as indicated by Appleinsider and its source.
In any case, the problem seems to have been corrected with MacOS 11.4, so should now be a thing from the past once this update is applied. This update 11.4 also applies a series of security fixes and goes back to certain bugs, including problems with Safari.
